Why patients choose a physician-led med spa

Most med spas are run by injectors and estheticians with a medical director on paper, someone who signs off remotely and never sees the patient. Trinity Med Spa is different. Dr. Carroll evaluates every patient himself, in person, as a licensed physician practicing at the same location where he runs full-scope primary and regenerative medicine.

That distinction matters more than most patients realize. Hormone changes, weight resistance, fatigue, and visible aging are rarely separate problems. They share root causes: inflammation, metabolic dysfunction, hormone decline, stress. A technician injecting filler can’t evaluate any of that. A physician can.

This is what makes Trinity Med Spa a medical practice first and an aesthetics provider second.

Meet Dr. Carroll

Dr. Brent T. Carroll is a board-certified family medicine physician with more than two decades of clinical experience spanning primary care, sports medicine, hormone optimization, regenerative medicine, and physician-led aesthetics. He is the founder and medical director of both Carroll Total Healthcare and Trinity Med Spa in Cumming, Georgia.

Before founding his independent practice, Dr. Carroll spent over a decade in hospital-affiliated and multi-specialty medical settings, including Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Northside Hospital Duluth, and Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. He holds active, unrestricted medical licensure in Georgia, Alabama, and Utah, and has served as an academic instructor at both the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and the University of Florida College of Medicine.

He built Carroll Total Healthcare and Trinity Med Spa around a single principle: health should be treated as one connected system, not a list of isolated symptoms handled by disconnected providers.

Why I Chose Regenerative and Longevity Medicine

After almost two decades practicing family medicine and earning board certification through the American Board of Family Medicine, I thought I understood what good healthcare looked like. I was wrong, or at least I was only seeing half the picture.

The healthspan gap

For most of my career, I practiced medicine the traditional way: short visits, insurance paperwork, and a system that waited for people to get sick before it really paid attention. I was grateful to care for multiple generations in the same families, but I kept seeing the same pattern. Patients were living longer, yet spending the last decade of life fighting preventable disease, pain, and exhaustion.

I started calling this the healthspan gap, the years when someone is technically alive but no longer feels strong, sharp, or independent. I remember one patient, a man in his mid-fifties, who came in exhausted, foggy, and convinced this was just what fifty-something felt like. It wasn’t. Once we addressed what was actually driving it, he told me he felt like he had a decade of his life back. That’s the gap I’m talking about, and it’s the gap I built this practice to close.

I realized I didn’t want to spend the rest of my career just managing decline. I wanted to help my patients stay active in their work, marriages, families, and faith communities for as long as possible, not simply add more medications and appointments to their lives.

How I practice now

That’s what pulled me into regenerative and longevity medicine.

Regenerative medicine focuses on helping the body repair and restore itself, using tools like hormone optimization, peptides, and other cellular-level therapies to support healing instead of just masking symptoms. Longevity medicine adds a proactive layer on top of that: advanced diagnostics, lifestyle design, and targeted interventions to extend not only how long you live, but how long you live well.

Over time, I integrated the best of traditional medicine with holistic, functional, and regenerative approaches into one care model. We still use evidence-based labs and diagnostics, but we also work on nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, toxins, hormones, and spiritual-emotional health, the real drivers of long-term health. I became less interested in writing more prescriptions and more committed to helping patients reduce their dependence on medications whenever it’s safe and realistic to do so.

Two practices, one goal

Trinity Med Spa and Carroll Total Healthcare grew out of this evolution in how I practice. On one side, we focus on the internal engine: hormones, metabolism, regenerative therapies, and longevity protocols. On the other, we address the outside, skin, body, and aesthetics, so how you look reflects how you actually feel. Together, they form a single, integrated path that can take you from “I’m tired, stressed, and stuck” to “I feel strong, clear, and confident again.”

Today my role is to act as the clinical architect of your long-term health, bringing together traditional, regenerative, and longevity medicine in a way that’s practical, personalized, and sustainable for real life. My team and I don’t just want to help you live longer. We want to help you stay active, purposeful, and fully present with the people you love for as many years as possible.

If you’re ready to stop drifting toward chronic disease and start building a plan for long-term energy, strength, and clarity, that’s exactly why this practice exists.

Schedule a consultation and let’s build that plan together.

Areas of clinical focus

Hormone optimization

BHRT men and women, addressing testosterone deficiency, perimenopause, menopause, and metabolic decline through lab-based, physician-monitored protocols.

Regenerative medicine

Platelet-rich plasma and physician-directed cellular therapies designed to support the body's own repair process rather than mask symptoms.

Medically supervised weight loss

Metabolic evaluation and treatment for patients dealing with weight resistance, fatigue, and hormone-driven metabolic slowdown.

Medical aesthetics

Facial rejuvenation, skin quality, and body confidence treatments delivered under direct physician oversight, not handed off to unsupervised staff.

Longevity and preventive care

Advanced diagnostics and proactive health strategy aimed at extending healthspan, not just lifespan.

Sports medicine and team physician experience

Dr. Carroll’s clinical background includes extensive work in sports medicine and musculoskeletal care. He has served as a sports medicine physician for Mountain View High School in Lawrenceville, Georgia, as a team medical physician for the Georgia Force professional arena football team, and as an on-site sports medicine physician for the Georgia State High School wrestling championship.

This sideline and team-physician experience, evaluating real-time injuries, making return-to-play decisions, treating soft tissue and orthopedic complaints under pressure, informs the same clinical judgment he now applies to regenerative medicine, recovery, and long-term musculoskeletal function at Carroll Total Healthcare and Trinity Med Spa.

Academic appointments and teaching roles

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Carroll has contributed to medical education through academic and teaching appointments.
He has served as an Associate Clinical Professor in Family Medicine for the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Georgia Campus, beginning in July 2009.

Dr. Carroll was also appointed as a Courtesy Clinical Assistant Professor with the Office of Educational Affairs in the University of Florida College of Medicine for the 2024–2025 academic year. The appointment supported the education of future physicians through early clinical exposure and community-based medical learning.

These academic roles reflect Dr. Carroll’s long-standing commitment to physician education, clinical mentorship, and the development of future medical professionals.
